It’s a weird sensation, this. They don’t feel the same, they never do.
A loss of feeling. An army of pins and needles, parading on the surface of your skin. The blood rushes to your heart - pump faster, breathe, work, live. Your body now tingling, senses are heightened and the air sweeps over you colder than ever. A frenzy of shivers and chattered teeth. Groans, mumbles and squeals are the only thing that manage to escape your gaping lips as you try to defeat suffocation. Your brain stops working. Noise multiplied to deafening volumes, trying to process your words, struggling to mute the thoughts of panic, fighting for that fresh breath.
